Culture enjoys a very high status in the Wienerwald. Castles and palaces, churches and monasteries are more than just the setting for big concerts, operetta, dramas or comedies… Even today a breeze of history wafts around them. One can still feel the spirit of the great artists, who had looked for inspiration and created their masterpieces there. Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Nestroy, Kafka or Stifter – the list of those great characters who were muse-kissed in the Wienerwald is endless. Trying to follow the traces of these artists we walk through the Wienerwald, observe their houses or the museums which where dedicated to them and plunge into the world of these great personalities. |
