Cycling in the Vienna Woods

Many exciting cycle routes enable guests to discover the beautyful szenery of the Vienna Woods.

The wonderful, varying landscape of the Vienna Woods, offers ideal opportunities to explore and enjoy. Every cyclist, whoever, families, leisure cyclists or athletes, will find their appropriate selection of cycle paths.

Wine connoisseurs and cycling tourists aim to be at their radiant best in the summery Vienna Woods. They cycle through fresh forests, gaze across vast vineyards and top it all off by enjoying the very best wines.

Wine and forests for delightful cycling

Cyclists experience the Vienna Woods in contact with nature. Beginners, experts, mountain bikers and leisure cyclists love the beautiful views of the forest, the meadows and the vineyards. In Gumpoldskirchen for instance, cyclists take some refreshment after an 18-kilometre trip through the wonderful Rieden landscape along the „Weingartenradweg“. In Baden bei Wien, the original Vienna Woods Punschkrapferl pastry that can be found at Judith und die Torten sweetens the trip.

Leisure cyclists can now comfortably ride up to wine and culture at the Wiener Neustadt Canal, where wood, bricks and coal was once shipped to Vienna. At the central point is the elegant Kurstadt Baden which can be explored further during laps on the bike.

Wine taverns attract visitors with a diverse variety of wines and indigenous brands

During the summer months, items are on display for a long time at the wine taverns of the Vienna Woods. The vines of Austria’s oldest wine-growing estates with the richest tradition feel right at home in the Vienna Woods. The Freigut Thallern and the Weingut Stift Klosterneuburg grow their indigenous breeds in close contact with humans and nature. Wine connoisseurs taste this diligence in every sip.
