The Beethovenweg - This wonderful walking trail is around 26 km long. It is varied, full of views and leads through the Föhrenberge Nature Park!
This route corresponds to Ludwig van Beethoven's original walk. There is a small difference at the turning point in the Kurpark Baden. A small change has been made to the route.
During this walk, you will see a lot of the Thermenregion Vienna Woods, plenty of nature in the forest and there are several places to take a break.
We start at the Mödling train station, walk south along Thomas-Tamussino-Straße, turn left at the end of the street, and then turn right onto Fabrikgasse just before the railroad crossing. After Fabrikgasse, we follow Brunecker Gasse to Andreas-Hofer-Gasse, where we turn left and then right at the first opportunity. We follow the paved road to the cemetery, which we pass on the left. After passing the cemetery and the dog training area, we turn right toward Eichkogel, then left until we reach Bürgermeisterrast. There, we turn right uphill to Wiener Wasserleitungsweg, which we follow—keeping to the left—until we reach Gumpoldskirchen. There, we walk past the parking lot and the Hotel Turmhof to the church square. Just before St. Michael’s Church, we turn left, walk past the parish office, and continue along the Wine Hiking Trail or Wine Educational Trail. We then walk downhill along the Grimmiggraben, turn right, and come to the 1st Vienna Aqueduct Hiking Trail, which we follow until just before Baden. Before leaving the Vienna Aqueduct Trail, we continue straight ahead and reach Schiestlerstraße, which leads us to Welzergasse. We cross this street and, in front of the Baden Spa Park, turn right up the nature trail, then take a sharp right. We follow this path to Josefiweg, which takes us into the wilderness. Just before the settlement, we turn sharply to the right, cross the street, and pass the Waldwiese rest area. We follow this path, passing the Veigl hut, and continue toward Richardshof in Mödling. After Richardshof, we continue along the path. Passing the Breite Föhre and the Waldgasthaus Bockerl, we reach An der Goldenen Stiege Street. We cross Spitalmühlgasse, walk along Neusiedler Straße toward Spitalskirchen, and continue on to Schrannenplatz. From there, we head back to the Mödling train station via Herzoggasse and Hauptstraße.
