The densely wooded market town of Alland in the district of Baden lies in the middle of the Vienna Woods. The valley basin around Alland is considered the center of the green recreation area. Alland: stories from the "hikeable" Vienna Woods
The Via Sacra, the old pilgrimage route to Mariazell, runs through Alland. A nature adventure trail and the G'schichten aus dem Wienerwald hiking trail - via the lovely "Wegerl" in the Helenental valley to Baden - also invite you to hike and relax. Visitors to the Sina Warte at the summit of the Hoher Lindkogel, which is also popular with mountain bikers, are rewarded with a fantastic view. Horse lovers, on the other hand, will find numerous stables and wonderful riding trails throughout the municipality.
Sights in Alland
Beautiful open-air monuments include the Türkenhasel - a 450-year-old tree - and a covered footbridge over the Schwechat dating back to 1745. Right next to it are the historic Babenbergerhaus and the Babenberger manor house. The largest and most beautiful stalactite cave in the Vienna Woods is also located nearby - on the 476-metre-high Buchberg: the Allander stalactite cave is known for its 10,000-year-old bear skeleton. You can relax and eat really well in one of the traditional restaurants in and around Alland.
