Route description Weingartenradweg

The Weingartenradweg leads without significant climbs mostly on paved paths along the vineyards and offers a wonderful view over the Thermenregion.
Continuous signposting with the designation "Weingartenradweg" guides along the entire route from the connections to the Thermenradweg (Eurovelo9) at Guntramsdorf and Bad Vöslau.
The route surface varies between typical cycle path sections, country roads, and accompanying cycle paths on residential streets.

For safety reasons, please observe the prohibition of passage through the Freigut Thallern grounds. We especially ask you to dismount and push your bike through the grounds during events. Right after the Freigut, you can continue cycling on the cycle path! The Freigut Thallern endeavors to set up a detour during events.

Directions

via federal road 17

by train, e.g. to Mödling or Baden

Safety information

Apart from a 2 km section, the entire route mostly follows country roads where a speed limit of 40 km/h applies for cars. Other parts of the route run on narrow accompanying cycle paths on residential streets, especially in the towns, which also serve as connecting routes to the Thermenradweg (Eurovelo9).

The passage through the Freigut Thallern is closed during ongoing events, such as weddings. There is a driving prohibition through the area. We ask you to dismount and push your bike through the Freigut Thallern! Furthermore, during events at the Freigut grounds, a detour is signposted for a bypass!

In the section after the Mödlinger cemetery towards Guntramsdorferstraße, beware of a gravel road with coarse crushed stones!

Author's tip
