Details for: Circular route to the Jubiläumswarte

Brief description

For children, the hike is quite long and steep; it is not suitable for strollers. It is a nice hike over beautiful but partly very steep paths (after the "Paradies"). From Satzberg, you have a beautiful view.

Description

Tip/Fun fact: In late spring, the Steinhofgründe show themselves in all their glory when the fruit trees bloom. An info point also provides information about the local features and the BPWW.

Route description Circular route to the Jubiläumswarte

We start at Rosentalgasse, corner of Linzer Straße, and go via Freyenthurmgasse to Hüttelbergstraße, where we turn right and hike to the recreational area "Paradies." There we follow the forest path to a meadow slope, which we ascend. At the top, we turn left onto another path through a meadow. Then we come to a path along a fence where, at the end of the fence, we turn right and follow the wide paved path until we reach a street called Steinböckengasse and follow it uphill. From now on, we are on the Vienna city hiking trail 4 and follow the corresponding signs. These lead us to the Jubiläumswarte and further to Kreuzeichenwiese. From there, we go back down on city hiking trail 4. After some time, the path crosses Johann-Staud Straße, which we cross, then walk left beside a parking lot into the forest. At the following fork, we take the right path and come back to Johann-Staud Straße, where we turn left. Shortly before the Steinhof fire station, we turn right into the Steinhofgründe and from now on follow the "rundumadum" hiking trail and the related signs. Following the signs, we walk along a wall to a gate. Behind this gate, we turn left and follow the street until we see a "rundumadum" sign at the forest edge. From now on, we follow the white apples painted on trees. We walk left past the pond in Dehnepark and turn left before the small bridge. Following the path, we reach the exit of the park, where we turn right into Dehnegasse and follow it back to our starting point.
