Details for: Laaben Service Tree Paths - Variant 1
Brief description
From the main square in Laaben, the three paths lead along the western ridge after a short climb.
Here, wonderful views open up in all directions. Passing romantic individual farmsteads of the forest farmers, through wondrous traditional orchard meadows with service trees and cornelian cherries, we come to magnificent viewpoints and dreamily located chapels. Service trees line the paths as well as raspberry and blackberry bushes. If you are on the right seasonal timing, you can thus sample a diverse berry garden. Numerous wayside shrines and image crosses can also be discovered on the Laaben service tree paths.
Description
We start our route at the Laaben municipal office heading west, cross the Laabenbach and then turn right onto the second street. For about 300 m we use the Laabental cycle path. Then we go left up a forest and meadow path to the Pirat hamlet. In the middle of the forest we reach the long-distance hiking trail 04 and follow it until shortly after a farm. On an asphalted farm track, we come down again to the state road, where we turn right towards Brand. In Brand, we turn opposite the church into Kirchenweg and follow it. Past the tennis court and the St. Florian chapel (nice resting place) a lovely, shady path next to the brook leads us back into the village.
