Nativity scene museum of Vösendorf in Lower Austria

Museum

Description

Experience a tour through the museum into the fascinating and mystical world of nativity scenes.

The 1st Lower Austrian Nativity Scene Museum displays a historically valuable selection of nativity scenes from the last century.
Our tour takes you from the popular Tyrolean nativity scene through the world of antiquity to the oriental nativity scene. The character of the rustic museum, a former grain silo, has been preserved as far as possible. The works on display are of a high quality and presented in a setting with an atmosphere that will make any nativity scene heart beat faster. On display are scenes and works by Auer Erwin, Gleinser Alois, Lanthaler Stefan, Pigozzi Antonio, Palazzo Umberto, Planer Hans, Riml Reter, Schrettl Peter and Volgger Peter, to name but a few.
Our nativity scenes are not just ornamental; there are many deep meanings hidden in the nativity scenes and their figures.

The exhibitions are not permanent but are renewed every year with new objects!

Now from April 27, 2025 to January 6, 2026 3rd provincial nativity scene exhibition under the motto: KRIPPENLAND NIEDERÖSTERREICH
