Perchtoldsdorfer Heide

Outdoor adventure

Description

A special nature reserve south of Vienna!

One of the most popular recreational areas south of Vienna is the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide. The heath is a nature reserve of international importance, home to more than 570 plant species and over 2000 animal species. The climate-related dryness and the use of pastureland, which has probably existed since the Neolithic Age, have led to the unique protected flora and fauna.

A special attraction for young and old alike is the ground squirrel colony from April to September! However, the gophers may not be fed!

It is also important to mention that dogs must be kept on a lead in the entire area!
