Pfarrkirche Pressbaum
Church
Description
The parish church of Pressbaum is, so to speak, a "landmark" of Pressbaum. It was built in 1906-1908 to replace the old baroque church that had existed since 1730. For a short time, Pressbaum even had two parish churches side by side.
The architects, Max Hegele and August Rehak, had planned a similar interior for the Secessionist building, which was however partially modified with neo-Gothic furnishings (high altar, pulpit), and objects from the old parish church were also used.
From the outside, the gabled façade with a Trinity mosaic, divided by the roofed porch, is striking. On the right, a semi-circular Marian chapel is built in front, which is also available as a prayer and devotional space during the day.
