Stiftskeller Klein-Mariazell

Historical sites, Monastery / abbey

Description

Seminar and event center Klein-Mariazell

A place with history!

Built in 1753, the monastery cellar in Klein-Mariazell was once used by the Benedictine monks to store their wines. More than 200,000 liters of various wines, mainly from the area around Baden near Vienna, but also from what was then western Hungary, were stored here at the best of times.

After the abolition of the monastery, the building suffered a varied fate: from ice cellar to apartments to truck garage, it was acquired by the "Mariazell im Wienerwald" association in 2018 and lovingly restored to its former glory. Today, the monastery cellar houses a depot for the region's art treasures as well as rooms of various sizes for different occasions.

A place for every occasion!

The revitalization of the Stiftskeller has created a new architectural jewel in the region.

It is available for events of all kinds. On the one hand for cultural events organized by the Mariazell im Wienerwald association itself, such as concerts, exhibitions or conferences, on the other hand it can be rented for parties or events of any kind.
