Description

The 454 meter high Dreimarkstein is located on the border of the Viennese districts of Döbling and Hernals, as well as the Lower Austrian cadastral municipality of Weidling. The Dreimarkstein is a foothill of the Vienna Woods. Most of the mountain is forested, just below the summit runs the Wiener Höhenstraße.

Location: Vienna Woods, Weidling

Hike to the Dreimarkstein

The hike to the Dreimarkstein is easy and also ideal for families.
From the old winegrowers' village Sievering in the 19th district, in Vienna the red marked hike leads to the inconspicuous summit of the Dreimarkstein on the Lower Austrian side. The popular Wienerwald restaurant "Häuserl am Roan", which is located directly on the Höhenstraße a little below the summit and already belongs to Vienna, invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Highlights of this hike are the view of Neustift am Walde surrounded by vineyards and the hilly Wienerwald scenery in the distance. You can also reach the summit or the Häuserl am Roan by car, directly via the Wiener Höhenstraße or with the bus line 43A of the Wiener Linien.

Mountain bike route over the Dreimarkstein

The Obere Roan trail mountain bike tour winds fluidly through the forest parallel to the forest road and offers a few fine vantage points over the northern Vienna Woods in between. It ends at the entrance to the Wurzel Trail, from where you can either ride down it or continue on the Hameau trail towards Exelberg.
