About us
Old-fashioned - but not old-fashioned, young at heart and dynamic, cozy and comfortable - this is how Purkersdorf's Beisl presents itself today.
Founded in 1986, it has now been in operation for well over 20 years and has become an original in the local gastronomic landscape.
A "facelift", which had become necessary in the meantime, ultimately produced a wonderful result - the Stehbeisl NEU - with warm colors, dark wood and an inviting ambience. Even in the mornings, people meet here in this "original" to enjoy our coffee specialties while studying the daily newspapers or to spend a cozy evening with exquisite wines and freshly tapped beer.
There are many reasons for a visit.
If you know Mr. Van Gogh and are standing in front of one of his paintings in the Louvre in Paris, for example, you can be sure that you are looking at an original.
You certainly won't find the Stehbeisl in Paris, but here in Purkersdorf you will be standing in an original.
What began in this small bar more than 20 years ago has not only been copied often and badly, but has also made a triumphal march through large parts of Austria.
The ambience has hardly changed, but it is still a pleasure to see familiar faces even after many years.
Purkersdorf has a Stehbeisl and the two have become friends. People meet up from here, go on excursions, stay or come after midnight.
