The idyllic Höflein an der Donau station in the municipality of the same name lives up to its name, as the southern bank of the Danube can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes. Waiting areas have been set up on both platforms, as well as a ticket machine and display monitors.
21 parking spaces for cars and mopeds are available next to the reception building, and there are over 40 bicycle parking spaces in the covered Bike & Ride facility.
Route connection
- The Höflein an der Donau stop is on the Franz-Josefs-Bahn line.
- Trains on the S40 rapid transit line to Tulln an der Donau and to Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof in Vienna stop here.
- Trains to St. Pölten also run at peak times.
- Buses to Kritzendorf, Tulln an der Donau, Klosterneuburg and Höflein an der Donau stop directly in front of the station.
Danube
Just drop down and the Danube is at your feet - it's not much more than a 5-minute walk from Höflein an der Donau station. The famous Danube cycle path runs through the area and you will soon find a spot to enjoy nature on and around the Danube.
The treasure: Silver Lake
A little further on is the Kritzendorf Silbersee, which invites you to cycle around it on a family-friendly path. The idyllic ambience of the lake provides a wonderful backdrop for lingering at the Gasthaus am Silbersee as the sun sets, accompanied by home-style cooking and homemade pastries.
