The municipality of Maria Lanzendorf is known as a place of pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary. The popular parish church "Zur schmerzhaften Mutter Gottes" is one of the most beautiful pilgrimage churches in Lower Austria. In less than 10 minutes on foot from Maria Lanzendorf train station, you can reach the church on the impressive Calvary with its spiral staircase that traces the Passion of Christ.
