Route description Circular hike to Buchberg lookout

From Neulengbach city station, we walk over the Rathausplatz northwards into the old town. After reaching the church square, we reach Ulmenhofstraße and follow it to the right towards the northeast (yellow marking) up to Almersbergstraße. Uphill, we reach Buchberggasse and follow the signposts towards Buchberg. On the return from Buchberg, we take the blue-marked hiking trail and turn right at the junction towards the forest paths on the paved path downhill. Upon reaching the first houses, we take the first sharp right towards Neulengbach (red).

CAUTION! On Kirschnerwaldstraße there is a marked continuation of the white-red-white hiking trail next to a horse paddock over private land, but this was closed at the time of the survey (April 21, 2020)! Therefore, the detour is via Grillenhofstraße – Almersbergstraße – Austraße – Egon Schiele Straße – Schustergasse.

We follow Egon-Schiele-Straße straight ahead towards Neulengbach Castle until, after a slight incline, we reach a park bench in the woods. We then follow the path to the left up to the junction with Weinheberstraße, followed by Postgasse. Going straight ahead, we reach Rathausplatz and turn back towards the station.
