Mountain summit

The 516 meter high Exelberg is located near the Vienna city limits in the northern Wienerwald in the municipality of Klosterneuburg.

Location: Vienna Woods, municipality Klosterneuburg

A country road leads over the mountain from Tulbing (Tulln) to the Wiener Höhenstraße. The mountain became famous because of the former Exelberg race, which took place for the first time in 1899. Currently, the road over the Exelberg is a popular motorcycle route.

Today, the 109 meter high telecommunications tower, visible from afar, stands on the Exelberg.
The Eckbach and the Halterbach, a tributary of the Vienna, rise here on the mountain.
