Weingut Stadlmann

Winery

Description

As early as 1780, the Stadlmann house was dedicated to viticulture.

Over eight generations, the wine knowledge was then multiplied and passed on. Hardly anyone has studied the unique conditions and original grape varieties of the Thermenregion as intensively as Bernhard Stadlmann. He has deepened his profound training through numerous internships abroad and today approaches his work with a great deal of experience and a special sensitivity for the most valuable sites in the region. On the slopes of the Anninger, he confidently cultivates predominantly old vines, deeply rooted in the shell limestone.
In the cellar, he deliberately takes a back seat and allows the wine sufficient time to mature. In this way, authentic wines are continuously vinified with precise craftsmanship that express their origin in all facets and have enormous ageing potential. The complexity and density of Stadlmann's Zierfandler and Rotgipfler are incomparable. Stadlmann has always been committed to the region's typical grape varieties in all their varieties, but Pinot Blanc, Grüne Veltliner, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir also mature to perfection in large wooden barrels.
Johann Stadlmann is chairman of the regional wine committee and was named "Falstaff Winemaker of the Year" in 1994.
