Hinterbrühl
The market town of Hinterbrühl in the district of Mödling combines the villages of Hinterbrühl, Sparbach, Wassergspreng and Weissenbach bei Mödling. It is nestled in the lovely Vienna Woods landscape. Hinterbrühl is not only world-famous as a spa town and SOS Children's Village location, but also for attractions such as the lake grotto, the Sparbach Nature Park and the Höldrichsmühle mill.
It is not for nothing that artists such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner and Ferdinand Raimund were captivated by the beauty of the town. To this day, wonderful excursions with children or nature-related breaks and short vacations can be spent here.
Hinterbrühl: excursion tips from Seegrotte to Sparbach
For adults and young vacationers alike, Hinterbrühl offers real highlights for every excursion. The Seegrotte is Europe's largest underground lake and is considered a natural monument. The Seegrotte Hinterbrühl show mine is currently undergoing extensive maintenance work. A visit to the Sparbach Nature Park is a must for families. It was opened in 1962, making it the first nature park in Austria. The extensive area welcomes its guests with ancient giant trees and romantic ruins, beautiful hiking trails and a great adventure playground. However, the most important celebrities are clearly the free-roaming wild boars.
