Hennersdorf
The municipality of Hennersdorf is located between Vösendorf and Leopoldsdorf in the district of Mödling, right on Vienna's city limits. The Petersbach, a babbling tributary of the Schwechat, flows through Hennersdorf. Despite its proximity to the city of Vienna, Hennersdorf has managed to retain its enchanting rural character. With quiet footpaths and relaxed cycle routes, the village invites you to enjoy a vacation or a day trip - away from the stress and hectic pace of life.
Hennersdorf: Historic brickworks
The Wienerberger Ziegelwerke company based in Hennersdorf operates one of the most modern brick kilns in the whole of Europe. The foundations for this were laid back in the 18th century with several brickworks on what was then the "Road to Italy" - today's Triester Strasse. Incidentally, the cycle route along the path of the brick barons provides exciting insights into the history of the area.
Excursion tips for Hennersdorf
The cabaret and theater program in the 9er-Haus Hennersdorf - with a theater hall and open-air stage - is well worth seeing. Historically, the parish church of St. Andrew - a Romanesque hall building from the early 12th century - is well worth a visit. Just like its 19th century vicarage, the church is a listed building.
