Oberwaltersdorf

The market town of Oberwaltersdorf in the district of Baden is located on the Triesting river in the Vienna Basin - around 25 kilometers from the city of Vienna. Archaeological finds prove the very early settlement of the area. Waltrichsdorf" was first mentioned in a document in 1108. Today's famous residents of Oberwaltersdorf include singer and composer Lore Krainer. Billionaire Frank Stronach, in turn, bought the castle and some outbuildings in the mid-1990s. Over the years, he had the Magna European headquarters, the golf course and a housing estate built here.
