Pfaffstätten
The well-known wine village of Pfaffstätten is located right next to the spa town of Baden in the Vienna Woods. The place was already called "padres et vinum", fathers and wine, by the Romans. Viticulture has been practiced here for centuries, initially by various monasteries such as Melk, Heiligenkreuz and Lilienfeld, and today by many private wineries. The parish church was built at the end of the 12th century. The local history museum displays collections on the topics of viticulture and tree resin extraction as well as the history of the church and the village.
