Sooß was first mentioned in historical records 800 years ago and has since developed into an idyllic wine village. Nestled at the foothills of the Vienna Woods, the market town of Sooß lies amidst vineyards between the two spa towns of Baden and Bad Vöslau. The early-Gothic fortified church, with its moat and wall, is the market town’s visible landmark even from a distance. Throughout the year, Sooß offers visitors and guests numerous wine taverns (Heurigen) serving excellent red and white wines—which have received various state and national awards—as well as a wide variety of culinary delights available at various restaurants.
