The Reisetberg route offers some impressive highlights that are suitable for both experienced mountain bikers and families. Particularly noteworthy is the magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding villages and the rolling hills of the Vienna Woods, which can be enjoyed again and again throughout the tour. The route also leads through the idyllic forest area around the Reisetberg, which not only offers tranquil nature experiences, but also reveals a variety of flora and fauna. Another highlight are the gentle hills and meadows along the route, which make for a relaxing ride and reflect the charm of the region. The mixture of well-maintained forest roads and dirt tracks makes for a varied but not too challenging tour, ideal for a short break in nature.
Before every ride, check the functionality of brakes, tires, and suspension fork/shock absorber. Always ride with hazard awareness and controlled speed and adapt route selection to the riding skills of the group and the terrain. The Fair Play rules must be observed at all times. Single/shared trails as well as built routes in trail parks and trail centers frequently feature stones, roots, steep sections, steps, and sharp turns that require certain riding skills. When in doubt, just dismount and push your bike.
A safe and functional mountain bike is required for all routes. Helmet and gloves protect in case of falls and can be supplemented on single/shared trails by knee and elbow protectors. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails from the red difficulty level, a full-suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, tire levers, pump, and spare tube help in case of a puncture. Adequate provisions (drinks and food) as well as a mobile phone and wind/rain jacket should also be carried.
From Kirchenplatz first ride north on a path. Then turn right and after about 100 m turn left through the fields to ride up the Reisetberg. After the small wayside shrine, turn left on the forest road for 200 m then continue to follow it to the right. At the next three junctions continue straight on the forest road. At km 4.5 turn left at the intersection then after about 700 m turn right onto a small path to complete the circuit on the Heiligenkreuzerweg.
