A tour through the nature of Pfaffstätten
Pfaffstätten is located in the Thermenregion Vienna Woods - one of Austria's oldest and most famous wine-growing regions - and on the south-eastern foothills of the Vienna Woods Biosphere Reserve. From the Klesheimwarte right next to the Rudolf Proksch hut, there is a magnificent panoramic view over the Vienna Basin to the Leitha Mountains and the Schneeberg, which is over 2,000 meters high. Hiking Pfaffstätten is also a popular local recreation area. With its many hiking trails and the Thermenradweg cycle path, those seeking relaxation can unwind here. At the end of the day, the many wine taverns offer a cozy get-together.

From the parking lot, turn right, pass the "Reblounge," and head toward the vineyards, following the signs for Gumpoldskirchen. Keep to the right and cross Weinbergstraße toward Südbahn. After passing through the Südbahn underpass, you’ll reach the nature playground for children. The route continues along a dirt path and the railroad embankment to the train station and then back toward the vineyards. After about 300 meters, you’ll be back at the starting point.
The perfect way to round out this tour is to visit the many wine taverns right in town, which are just a few minutes' walk away.
