Station Pressbaum

Train station

Pressbaum station is located in the middle of the Vienna Woods in the municipality of the same name. The listed reception building on site has not lost any of its charm to this day, as the connection of Pressbaum to the Alte Westbahn line ensured an enormous economic boom for the region as early as 1858. Seating facilities for waiting passengers have been installed at the two platforms, and two ticket vending machines are also available.

The adjacent Park & Ride facility provides parking for 35 cars and mopeds, and there are more than 15 bicycle parking spaces in the Bike & Ride station.

Imperial Fountain of Youth

The Vienna Woods have always been considered one of the most popular excursion destinations in Lower Austria - not surprisingly, Empress Elisabeth also indulged in the nature-loving surroundings. Since she stopped for a rest at the source of the Vienna River in 1882 and was so taken with the taste of the water, it was henceforth brought to Schönbrunn for the preparation of her coffee. Along beautiful meadow and forest paths, this "Kaiserbründl" can be reached in an hour's walk from Pressbaum.
