Imperial fountain of youth
The Vienna Woods have always been one of the most popular excursion destinations in Lower Austria - not surprisingly, Empress Elisabeth also indulged in the nature-loving surroundings. Ever since she took a break at the source of the Vienna River in 1882 and was so taken with the taste of the water, it was brought to Schönbrunn to make her coffee. This "Kaiserbründl " can be reached in an hour's walk from Pressbaum along beautiful meadow and forest paths.
