Train station Purkersdorf Sanatorium

As one of four railroad stations in the municipality, Purkersdorf Sanatorium station in Purkersdorf is the last stop before Vienna in the Vienna Woods region of Lower Austria. At the two platforms, which can be reached via an underpass, bright, glazed waiting areas have been installed for rail passengers. There is a ticket machine at each of the two platforms for convenient ticket purchases.

In addition to a number of parking spaces for cars, a conveniently accessible Bike & Ride facility has been built to make it easier to change to the train.

Route information

• Purkersdorf Sanatorium station is located on the Westbahn line from Linz to Vienna.
• The S50 express train to Neulengbach and the Westbahnhof to Vienna runs every half hour.

Lainzer Tiergarten

There are numerous opportunities for leisure activities just outside Vienna. From Purkersdorf Sanatorium station, you can reach the large Lainzer Tiergarten zoo in half an hour on foot. With free admission, a number of circular hiking trails, playgrounds and animal enclosures invite you to take a long walk, which will quickly make you forget that you are strolling on the outskirts of a cosmopolitan city.

Troppberg trail

The Troppberg mountain bike tour is a real challenge. Starting in Purkersdorf, the route leads via Troppberg, Laabach, Augustinerwald and back again. Accompanied by sparse beech forests, you embark on a nature-loving route with magnificent views.
