Laab im Walde
The Lower Austrian municipality of Laab im Walde in the district of Mödling is located in the Vienna Woods - a natural idyll right on the outskirts of Vienna. The area was settled early on. The first documented mention of it dates back to 1200. At the time of the Babenbergs and Habsburgs, Laab im Walde was a popular hunting area. Today, marked hiking trails, bridle paths and cycle tours invite you to take a break in the countryside.

The entire municipality is characterized by historical gems - such as pretty chapels and historic aqueducts. The parish church of St. Koloman with the former Wintersbach Castle is an important cultural attraction. On the site of the former church and cold-water sanatorium is the convent complex of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. The impressive complex was rebuilt in 1912 and 1913 in the Heimatstil style.
