The "flight test" of Tullnerbach
In 1901, Wilhelm Kress caused a sensation with his hang-gliding attempt on the Wienerwaldsee lake . His apparatus, designed as a seaplane, sank. However, he himself remained unharmed. To this day, a monument erected on the northern shore of the lake in 1913 commemorates the aviation pioneer.
