The market town of Kaltenleutgeben in the district of Mödling lies in the narrow, wooded valley of the Liesingbach stream southwest of Vienna. At the turn of the century, Kaltenleutgeben - now a popular recreational area in the city - was already a world-famous health resort: Empress Sisi, Nobel Prize winner Henryk Sienkiewicz and the world-famous storyteller Mark Twain all stayed here. After the almost complete destruction of the spa houses and further severe damage to the settlement areas during the war years, a successful reconstruction of the town began.
Today, Kaltenleutgeben presents itself as a modern, family-friendly community - magically surrounded by the Vienna Woods and with numerous hiking routes in the Föhrenberge Nature Park. Cozy accommodation and inns round off the vacation offer.

The parish church, which was built in 1730 by Viennese master builder Jakob Oeckhl in the Baroque style, is well worth a visit: A copy of the Black Madonna from Alt-Ötting in Bavaria adorns the high altar. Historically significant buildings - such as several 19th century villas or the town hall from around 1900 - also characterize the townscape.
