Gießhübl Strecke

Description

The new Gießhübl route starts at the foot of the Gießhübler Kuhheide, a protected dry grassland typical of the Thermenregion. The route climbs gently uphill on asphalt into the forest and continues on gravel towards the Parapluie route, where you turn left. Ride past the beautiful Seewiese meadow to the Höllensteinhaus junction. You can ride up to this via the Höllenstein feeder road or follow the route to the left down past a biosphere reserve core zone to Wassergspreng. Core zonesare protected and are not used for timber harvesting. The mountain bike route turns into such a special area of the Vienna Woods, namely the Gießhübl core zone, at Wassergspreng and leads you back up to Gießhübel on gentle forest roads around the Eichberg. Special attention must be paid to the protected nature and the ban on walking off the signposted route!
