The Husarentempel Trail is located in the Anninger mountain bike area and can only be ridden downhill. This trail is reserved for mountain bikers. Nevertheless, we ride considerately and at half speed. Riding on the trail is prohibited!
The Husarentempel Trail medium is a challenging mountain bike trail in the Vienna Woods, which starts directly behind the historic Husarentempel and leads to the Unterer-3-Stundenweg. The trail is characterized by steep root steps and natural passages that require technical riding skills. Two alternative routes offer the opportunity to avoid particularly difficult sections. A robust mountain bike and suitable protective equipment are recommended.
Please exercise caution at intersections between roads and hiking trails!
Before every ride, check that your brakes, tires, and suspension fork/shock are in good working order. Always ride with an eye out for hazards and at a controlled speed, and choose a route that suits the group’s riding ability and the terrain. The Fair Play rules must be observed at all times. Single/shared trails, as well as built trails in trail parks and trail centers, often feature rocks, roots, steep sections, steps, and sharp turns that require a certain level of riding skill. If in doubt, simply dismount and walk your bike.
A safe and roadworthy mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. A helmet and gloves provide protection in the event of a fall, and knee and elbow pads can be added when riding on single or shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails rated red difficulty or higher, a full-suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, a tire lever, a pump, and a spare tube will help in case of a flat tire. You should also carry enough food and drink, as well as a cell phone and a windbreaker or rain jacket.
The Husarentempel Trail is a technically very challenging MTB singletrack that requires excellent riding skills. Starting right behind the Husarentempel with steep root steps, the trail winds through two sections to the Unterer-3-Stundenweg. Here, too, athletic ability is required. However, on this very natural single-track, there are also two red detours, which are marked as red—moderately difficult—segments on the trail. Downhill-oriented bikes and appropriate protective gear are absolutely essential on this trail. You can reach the trail via the Grenzweg.
Unfortunately, there are no restaurants nearby. The closest ones are in Hinterbrühl or Mödling.
