The Kiental Trail is located in the Anninger mountain bike areaand can only be ridden downhill. This trail is reserved for mountain bikers. Nevertheless, we ride considerately and at half speed. It is forbidden to ride on the trail!
Please exercise caution at intersections between roads and hiking trails!
Before every ride, check that your brakes, tires, and suspension fork/shock are in good working order. Always ride with an eye out for hazards and at a controlled speed, and choose a route that suits the group’s riding ability and the terrain. The Fair Play rules must be observed at all times. Single/shared trails, as well as built trails in trail parks and trail centers, often feature rocks, roots, steep sections, steps, and sharp turns that require a certain level of riding skill. If in doubt, simply dismount and walk your bike.
A safe and roadworthy mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. A helmet and gloves provide protection in the event of a fall, and knee and elbow pads can be added when riding on single or shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails rated red difficulty or higher, a full-suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, a tire lever, a pump, and a spare inner tube will come in handy in case of a flat tire. You should also bring plenty of food and drink, as well as a cell phone and a windbreaker or rain jacket.
The Kiental Trail is a moderately difficult, technically challenging MTB singletrack that requires sufficient riding skills. In the upper section, the trail winds its way down the slope—untamed and technically challenging—until it crosses the forest road. The second section is designed for a smooth, flowing ride and leads over great forest terrain to the first route split. A steep climb must be conquered to reach the black variant of the Kiental Trail. The black variant begins in the middle section with jumps, steep root steps, and a steep, curving descent. The red variant offers a detour around …, which includes an easy natural section. From the intersection of the two routes, the action picks up quickly. The jumps can be bypassed. The difficult rock step at the end of the trail can also be bypassed via a chicken line. The final section of the trail leads out of the forest to the right and connects to the Kiental Route.
