Perchtoldsdorf is located directly to the south of the metropolis of Vienna and yet is a relaxing distance away. The municipality spreads out on the eastern edge of the Vienna Woods, where pine forests and vineyards dominate the landscape. Nature's paradise begins in Perchtoldsdorf with the heath, which is a protected natural jewel of the first order and the habitat of the cute gopher. The light-flooded and resin-scented black pine stands on sun-bleached limestone cliffs lend the landscape a touch of the romantic south. Numerous mountain huts provide homemade delicacies for the hikers' physical well-being, while several wine taverns are always open in the village itself.
