Description

The route of the fourth day's stage often changes course from Kaumberg with the Triestingtal cycle path (15/8 km), but almost only horizontally, sometimes closer to the Triesting with beautiful places to stop, sometimes moving away from it again past meadows and fields.

From Weißenbach onwards, the Triesting valley emerges more and more with evidence of its industrial past, especially at its main town Berndorf (49/32 km). After Leobersdorf, the Wiener Neustädter Kanal clearly defines the course of the tour on the Thermen-Radweg until the turn-off to the day's destination Baden (62/55 km).

Characteristics

Landscape and nature
The transition between Hainfeld and Kaumberg, in particular, suddenly makes you feel the foothills of the Alps in your calves; the Vienna Woods are completely present again, as the Triestingtal forms its southern border; After Kaumberg, there is an impressive succession of pre-alpine green landscape, former industrial region and wine region in the south of Vienna; in between, places along the Triesting and green oases such as the Theaterpark in Berndorf invite you to linger.

Mixed traffic
On local roads and on the gentler route variant over the Gerichtsberg (4 km long); routes alongside the main road (Berndorf - Weißenbach, Altenmarkt - Kaumberg); several short sections on structurally separated cycle paths along the main road.

Gradients
There are two options for the transition from the Gölsental to the Triestingtal: 210 meters of elevation gain over 15 kilometers or 140 meters of elevation gain over 8 kilometers; then a largely flat route, but two shorter gradients in the Triestingtal before Berndorf and before Altenmarkt.
