From the market square, head east, past the fountain, and immediately turn onto Markt Street. After the Kirchenwirt, opposite the local history museum, a narrow path branches off to the left (sign: “Lug ins Land – Höfnergraben,” red and yellow markings) that leads over to the Laabachbach stream. Here, cross the street and climb a few meters up to the “Promenade” next to the stream. The promenade now heads left! (yellow markings and WWW 06 “Untertriesting-Kleinmariazell”) It follows the slope eastward, partly through the forest, before ascending briefly just before the Red Cross at an elevation of 530 m. Here, the trail leaves the forest and leads across a meadow, keeping to the left (sign for “Froschweg” and WWW 06), into the next section of forest (to the right across the meadow is the turnoff for the “Hahnweg”). In the forest, follow the forest road for 500 m; where the WWW 06 branches off to the left and downhill, stay on the forest road. In the forest, the trail now continues unmarked, mostly staying on the ridge, up to the meadows just above “Gänswoad.” Follow the trail down the ridge (along the power line) to the Gänswoad farm. Cross a bridge to the road in the Steinbach Valley. Cross the road and, on the opposite side, go through the gate (sign for “Froschweg”) onto a meadow; ascend toward Kleinbacherhöhe until you reach a row of trees that continues eastward. A forest trail (max. elevation 480 m) curves to the right across to the meadows above the campground. Descend to the campground and turn right onto the road leading into the valley toward Höfnergraben (unmarked). Follow the road into the valley for 1.7 km (after 1 km, the path via Schatzel joins from the right) until you reach the turnoff to Sticklerhöhe near the Höfnerhaus. (If you want to stop for a bite to eat, continue about 300 m along the Höfnergraben to the Forellenhof.) At the Höfnerhaus, signs for the “Froschweg” and the red trail markers (toward Kaumberg) lead you to the right and uphill. After a short stretch of road followed by a meadow path, you’ll reach the Sticklerhöhe (570 m). Across from there, the road leads hikers down through meadows and pastures into the Steinbachgraben. From here, follow the signs for “Froschweg,” “Hahnweg,” and the red trail markers. Immediately across the way, head uphill to the Hagerhof; after a short stretch on a path through the forest and finally across meadows, you’ll reach “Lug ins Land” (635 m). The trail begins across meadows, then descends through the forest and along the ski slope toward the northwest, where it meets the Laabach stream, which you follow downstream along the promenade. You’ll soon be back at the starting point.

There is a bus stop right on the market square (Kaumber/Triesting Marktplatz); the starting point is a 2-minute walk from there.
