Cycling tour Starting from Vösendorf Castle on the Thermenradweg Eurovelo9
The "Brick Barons' Trail" offers cyclists exciting insights into the history of the region south of Vienna.
The "Path of the Brick Barons" is a 20 km long, varied and easy to cycle route. It starts directly on the thermal cycle path at Vösendorf Castle, where you head south via a new cycle connection to Hennersdorf, past Wienerberger Austria, the new railroad station, the oldest church in the region and Petersbach. A game reserve and an attractive cultural trail round off the first stage.
The next stop is the "AG34-HAUS" in Leopoldsdorf. The exhibition "Leopoldsdorf and the Wienerberger history(ies) of the brick barons and Ziegelböhm" will be set up in the former brick workers' house on weekends from April 26 to November 10. Installations at AG34-HAUS and at the former Leopoldsdorf canal route commemorate the Wiener Neustadt canal. Other special features can be found in Achau at the so-called Kaiserablässen, an imposing hydraulic structure at the confluence of the Schwechat, Triesting, Mödlingbach and Krottenbach rivers - today the water of the Wiener Neustadt Canal flows here.
In Biedermannsdorf, you reach the end of the water-bearing canal at a waterfall, where there is a nice place to rest. You continue along the Aspangbahn to Laxenburg. The town center and especially the castle park with its romantic pond landscape and the historic Franzensburg castle are well worth a visit. Cycle back along the Thermenradweg via Biedermannsdorf to Vösendorf, back to Vienna or continue south along the Thermenradweg along the Wiener Neustädter Kanal.
